L/Cpl. Henry Wetherald

L/Cpl. Henry Wetherald, formerly of the West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own), served with No.6 Commando.

L/Cpl. Henry Wetherald was Killed In Action (KIA) on 25th February 1943, aged 25 years, by a German sniper when he was returning to the 38th (Irish) Infantry Brigade HQ from the Commando position at Fedt De Attia by motorbike with an Intelligence Corps Sergeant.

Henry was the son of Harry and Edith Wetherald, of Leeds, Yorkshire; and the husband of Kathleen Rose Wetherald, of Leeds. He was laid to rest in Medez-El-Bab War Cemetery. Grave 10.H.12.
